High Performance Auto Exhaust Systems Leeds

Sometimes owning a state of the art expensive sports car is not enough especially when the owner simply wants to get the best the car can offer. For a passionate racing fan or simply a performance addict, a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche or an Aston Martin are far from enough without the fine improvements that can be made so that every bit of power is squeezed out of the engine.

And one of the first things to change if you are interested in the performance of the car and efficiency factors is the stock exhaust system that the car is equipped with when you buy it.

The car exhaust system basically deals with exhaust gases away from the engine (where controlled combustion occurs) using an elaborate piping system. Although there are different types of exhaust systems for line-ups, a usual commonly includes:

-a cylinder head and exhaust manifold. The first is placed on top of the cylinders and directly affects the performance by determining the volumetric efficiency and the compression ratio of the engine (thus influencing the engine power). The latter consists of cast steel units involved in collecting exhaust gases from the multiple cylinders and passing it to the exhaust pipe. High performance heads are available for certain engines and their function is to reduce the resistance to flow while increasing the volumetric efficiency, all of which leads to a better power in the engine;

- a turbocharger that is mainly concerned with increasing the density of air entering the engine, thus improving the power ratio that the engine can provide;

-a catalytic converter that is responsible for reducing the levels of air pollution produced by an automobile by reducing the toxicity of the emissions emitted by the engine;

- a muffler (also known as a muffler especially in Europe) that deals with reducing noise levels by resonating the sounds within a set of tubes and chambers with holes until the sounds basically cancel each other out. To some extent, it could be said to function as an instrument of fine-tuned music, but with an inverse purpose: instead of creating, it eliminates the sounds.

The high-performance car exhaust systems are specifically designed for a car model and come as a replacement of the parts mentioned above with the improved ones.
