PICTCL is a state government undertaking in IT and technology industry which was established in 1976. It was restructured in 2002 and it was reengineered in 2009 again. It also works for E-Governance projects for different departments and organizations of the state government.

PICTEL ( Punjab information and communication technology corporation limited ) corporation decided to take on ERP because it wanted to automate the services and internal corporate functioning.  The overall duration of the ERP implementation started in march 2009 and it got completed in december 2011.
