- Firstly, get the application for Importer License from the LMPC website
- Secondly, fill out the Importer’s license application form

Registration Application Attachments
Every Importer’s license applicant must file the application with the following attachments to authenticate the applicant’s candidature with the DLM:
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Other Business licenses pertaining to the company
- Duly filled application form
- DD of the application processing fee. One can also share the payment details of an e-transaction.
- Complete the details that the Importer will display on the imported package(s) display panel
The Legal Metrology Department issues an Importer license to import weights and measurement units. According to the LMPC Rules, every registered Importer must comply with the LMPC regulations. Also, it must provide mandatory declarations before starting its operations.
Every registered Importer must furnish the following to the authorities before starting their import activities:
- Country of the product’s origin
- Details of the Manufacturer
- Details of the Exporter, if not the same as the Manufacturer
- Month and year of manufacturing
- Date and time of export
These declarations are non-specific. It just informs you of the pre-conditions the applicant must ensure before filing for a Legal Metrology registration certificate for an Importer’s license. It can vary with product specifications.
